Things are heating up in the city squares of Portland, Maine! We endured an all-day rehearsal in the extreme heat a week ago, yet still had a blast tossing a football around Congress Square Park on our breaks. Sweaty, dirty, and passionate... just the way we love our Shakespeare!
Fight Combat pro Nafeesa Monroe was in town working on Portland Stage Company's Little Festival of the Unexpected; a long time friend of director Carmen, she took a look at our swordfights and helped us tweak them to perfection!
We finally brought Caesar indoors for a rehearsal in PSC's Studio Theatre, as we'll have a couple performances in that black box. Bringing it inside is a whole new experience - no ambulances or street traffic, or random pedestrians passing through our scenes! These indoor shows will be quite a different beast altogether.
We kicked off our first week of performances in Congress Square Park this past Tuesday, and audiences are having a blast! Check out Megan Grumbling's Portland Phoenix review of one of our final run-through rehearsals:
This production clips along, running at about an hour, leaving the rest of your evening free! All performances start at 6pm. Bring a chair, bring five friends, and pay-what-you-can when we pass the hat!
